I can not believe how many houses I go where I do not see in the headboard of the bed. Headboards have a solid purpose and visually, not just on the bed anchors the room, but to have a pillow resting surface. You can easily or ornate, the choice is yours, but here is a simple way to create one is.
Use a door! A door, you say? Yes! Choose a large cupboard door instead of a standard wall door. Plain or fancy, either work, but I prefer a solid door with recessed panels to giveMore architectural detail, the piece I am pleased to provide about. You'll find that cabinet doors also tend to be less expensive and thus more quality in the piece for the same money.
1. Get measurements for the legs by measuring from ground to tip, where you want to get your head up against the wall, down 2 cm. (This is so that the leg did not show rail board over his head).
2. Measure the distance between the rails on the bed frame.
3. ShareMeasurement of the bed rail frame interval of two.
4. Find the center on the top of the door / header and mark it with a pencil.
5. Measure from the center outward mark, which have 1 / 2 distance measurement for the tracks you just added and place a mark. This will attach to the exact location of the center of the legs.
6. Cut legs from 2x4's. Attach secure at the back of the head board with wood screws. Use a carpenter's level to ensure they are attachedsquare.
7. Dry Prime and paint the door and legs, a neutral color and let it complete.
Now, the creative brain can kick in and really have some fun! Try this fun and easy ways for your new boss on board.
Stenciling:
Border the outer edges of the door with a vine border, then add floral designs, the recesses. I love this process to be on a head part that is painted dark brown or black as the design is so beautiful and it shows the path from the richBackground.
Faux Finishing:
Paint the door, then provide granite or marble effect in the wells. Also blended sponge painting can paint beautifully, and then the outer edge of a contrasting color.
Raised Plaster Stenciling:
Add a border design of the outer edges, then an increased central plaster stencil design with joint compound to the inserts. Let the grout dry for 48 hours before applying paint on the surface, so that you do not loose all that beautifulraised detail.
To paint with the same color as you can paint on the surface of the door to dry on the organization and to seal it completely. Apply a color wash of translucent wall glaze with a darker, coordinating color to the design and wipe the excess of a much more detailed version of the design shown mixed.
Ornamental Plaster Cast of a form:
Any form designs can create a unique and elegant headboard. Forms are easy to use. Simply lubricatein the form of brush lightly with oil then fill the mold with mixed plaster. Let's take the patch, remove the piece from the mold to dry and let air completely.
Cast and arrange your moldings in the desired pattern and then hang on the door with grout as an adhesive. Dry for 48 hours to paint and then wash color as described above in the raised plaster stenciling described in paragraph. The appearance of the plaster cast on the head board is so beautiful and seems to be socarved right into the head board. What is more expensive for a look!
To end your head, seal your design with a clear, non-yellowing sealer.
To lay the board upside down on the bed frame:
1. Stood at the head against the bed, and mark a hole for each of the holes in the bed frame mounting bracket (standard with all metal bed frame).
2. Use heavy-metal screws and the acquisition of matching wing nut.
3. Drill holes for each screw hole, marking the same diameter asthe screw and drill all the way through the leg.
4. Attach the headboard legs to the bed frame by the bolts all the way through the back of the legs and the bed frame will add a wing nut firmly and secure.
